Search Engine Optimization

What is SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is an all encompassing term for optimizing all aspects of a business’ web presence. It can be a complex and technical process. Even skilled digital marketers need to invest a significant time commitment to stay up-to-date with best practices. Think of SEO as a marathon, not a sprint.

A common issue website/business owners face is focusing on the initial development of a website but ignoring the ongoing SEO component. Since Google and other top search engines change their algorithms frequently, this snowballs into a major problem.

There are two types of SEO. Onsite SEO, or the technical elements of your website (including UX/UI) and Offsite SEO or building your authority and ranking. Both are critical components of long-term digital success for any website.

Onsite SEO

At 10x digital, onsite SEO ecompasses setting up the foundation of your website so it is designed, built and maintained with best practices in mind. At the end of the day, search engines aim to provide searchers with the best possible result for their search query. Good onsite SEO ensures search engines won’t have any technical limitations indexing your site or understanding your content.

These limitations can include:

  • Poor UX/UI experience;
  • Mobile-responsiveness;
  • Speed optimization;
  • Prominent CTAs;
  • Quality content;
  • Targeted keyword strategy;
  • Local optimization;
  • Structured data;
  • Business listing consistency & many more.

We make technical SEO ‘human friendly’. Our end goal is for you to rank high and provide value to searchers, ultimately increasing your organic traffic and your conversions.

Offsite SEO

Offsite SEO, or building organic backlinks, is linking to your site from other relevant sites that are (preferably) high ranking. This in turn helps your website rank higher. Our offsite SEO services help your website and business accomplish three important digital marketing goals:

  • Build your brand: greater brand equity means you’re more recognizable
  • Be seen: your links will be found on 3rd-party sites like Forbes or PBS
  • Boost your rankings: show up in search when customers are looking for you.

Content

Publishing fresh and quality content on your website plays a huge role in SEO. It can impact where you rank in the SERPs (search engine results pages). If major search engines are trying to distinguish where you should be ranked vs. your competitors, content can be a driving factor.

Each time a page on your site gets a “view,” search engine algorithms calculate how similar your content was to what the user searched, how long the user spent on your page and if the user clicked any links on the page. Older content on your website will rate pretty low, especially content that hasn’t had many page views. Your ultimate goal is to keep your content fresh, useful and relevant to your audience.

At 10x digital, we know how to balance technical SEO strategies with content while building your link profile, credibility and overall web presence.

Local Listings

As a local business, you may struggle to out-rank large national competitors in organic search. By keeping the basic details about your business up to date, however, you’re able to capture the attention of potential customers who are searching for a company with your services. Your local listings are an opportunity to drive brand equity, traffic to your site, trust with potential customers and much more.
